Aventura, Florida-based importer Enovation Brands expanded its premium Italian wine this winter with the launch of a new sparkling wine offering. Gemma di Luna Moscato ($17 a 750-ml. bottle) is made with Moscato grapes from the Piemonte region in Italy. The wine aims to offer a longer-lasting and fuller effervescence than traditional Moscato sparkling wines made in the frizzante style. Created by winemakers Walter Zuccotto and Michela Bandinelli, the wine has a delicate nose, with nectarine, peach and apple flavors on the palate and balanced acidity. The wine, which is packaged in an opaque teal bottle, clocks in at 7.5-percent abv and targets the growing trend toward lower-alcohol wines. Gemma di Luna Moscato is now available nationwide. The company is backing the wine’s launch with a new marketing campaign, “Italy’s New Gem,” that pays homage to the Gemma di Luna brand name—which means “Gem of the Moon.” The campaign includes a heavy social media push as well as an events platform targeting the trade and consumers, with a focus on bridal events.
The Italian-centric Enovation Brands portfolio also includes the Voga Italia, Luna di Luna, Ca’ Montini, Farmers of Wine, Giorgio & Gianni and Lady Lola wine brands, among several others.
