MundoVino Debuts D.V. Catena Tinto Histórico

Argentinian winery Catena introduces a new red blend to its lineup.

The Winebow Group’s MundoVino division is launching a new release from the Catena wines portfolio. Named for Domingo Vicente Catena (the son of Catena’s founder Nicola Catena), D.V. Catena Tinto Histórico ($21 a 750-ml.) is made in a style reminiscent of the family’s wines from the 1930s. Available nationwide, the release is a blend of 92-percent Malbec and 8-percent Petit Verdot from four high-altitude estate vineyards—Adrianna, Angélica, El Cepillo and La Pirámide—in Mendoza, owned by the Catena family. Fourth generation vintner Dr. Laura Catena and chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil craft the Catena lineup.
