Newly Launched IPAs

The New Year has already seen a host of hoppy beers hit shelves.

IPAs are off to another strong start in 2018, as a number of top brewers have released fresh takes on the popular style. The new offerings are a mixture of short-supply seasonal beers and permanent line extensions, with most emphasizing experimental or American hop varieties.

New Belgium Juicy Haze IPA
New Belgium Brewing has entered the hazy IPA market with Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA. The 7.5%-abv unfiltered IPA is made with Citra, Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe and Nugget hops, and is fermented with American Hefeweizen yeast. Juicy Haze IPA is the fourth permanent addition to the Voodoo Ranger lineup and is now available nationwide on draft and in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles. In March, the new entry will be available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans. For more information, visit Newbelgium.com.

Alaskan Brewing Co. Spruce IPA
Alaskan Brewing Co. has revamped its seasonal lineup for 2018. Debuting this month is Spruce IPA—brewed with newly budded springtime Sitka spruce tips—which will be available through April throughout the brewery’s 20-state distribution footprint. The beer’s label features a snowy owl, an iconic symbol of Alaska’s cold winter and early spring months. Summit Brewing 2018 IPA Collection
St. Paul, Minnesota-based Summit Brewing Co. has launched its 2018 IPA Collection. Summit’s popular 5.1% abv Sága IPA headlines the range, which also includes three new releases: Wee IPA, a sessionable 4.7% abv beer; Experimental Hop IPA, a 6% abv brew made with unique hops and a complex grain bill; and Imperial IPA, a West Coast–style offering and the strongest of the four beers at 8.5% abv. Packaged in a variety box of twelve 12-ounce cans, the 2018 IPA Collection is now available at Summit’s beer Hall and is set to hit retail shelves and limited draft lines by the end of the month.
