Walsh Whiskey Launches Writers’ Tears Single Pot Still Expression

The Irish whiskey is aged in Bourbon barrels, then finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks and Florio Marsala Hogsheads.

Ireland’s Walsh Whiskey is debuting its first single pot still expression. Writers’ Tears Single Pot Still ($80 a 750-ml.) was triple-distilled and initially matured in Bourbon barrels. It was then further matured in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks from Spain and Florio Marsala Hogsheads from Sicily, before being cut at 46% abv. Writers’ Tears Single Pot Still is a limited-edition expression, with some 3,000 bottles available in 15 states. The brand is imported by Hotaling & Co. For more information, visit Walshwhiskey.com.
