Wente Introduces Mount Diablo Highlands Red Blend

The wine comprises Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Barbera, Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec.

Livermore Valley, California’s Wente Vineyards is introducing a new permanent addition to its portfolio, Wente Vineyards Mount Diablo Highlands Red Blend. The newcomer ($20 a 750-ml.) is a blend of 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Petit Verdot, 16% Merlot, 11% Barbera, 11% Tempranillo, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 9% Malbec from Wente’s family vineyards. It’s named for Mount Diablo, which rises over the Livermore Valley at 3,849 feet, approximately 30 miles east of San Francisco.
