Symington Introduces Super-Premium White Wine Taifa

The Portuguese offering features grapes from the company’s Alentejo estate in the Douro Valley.

Symington Family Estates is launching Taifa, a super-premium white wine from its Alentejo estate, Quinta da Fonte Souto. Taifa ($105 a 750-ml.) is made from a few plots of mature vineyards with low-yielding vines and is vinified in 500-liter French oak barrels. Known for Port labels Graham’s, Cockburn’s, Dow’s, and Warre’s, as well as several Douro wine brands, Symington is a leading vineyard owner in the Douro valley, with 26 quintas covering 1,114 hectares (2,752 acres) of vineyards.
