New Sparkling Wines

Four fresh, bubbly offerings have abounded on the market.

With sparkling wines no longer limited to celebratory occasions, a number of new offerings have recently appeared on national shelves for everyday enjoyment. Some sparklers, like Moët Hennessy’s Winter Collection, are seasonally focused and on limited release, while others—Terlato Wine’s Giuliana Prosecco, for one—are permanent, accessibly priced additions to the bubbly market.

Sterling Vineyards Sparkling Wines
Treasury Wine Estates’ Sterling Vineyards has unveiled its first sparkling wines. Rolling out ahead of the holidays, the bubbly offerings include a Sterling Vineyards Blanc de Blancs—made from 100% Napa Valley Chardonnay sourced from a single vineyard in Yountville—and Sparkling Rosé, featuring a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. Mionetto Cuvée Anniversario
Mionetto Prosecco is launching a new special release within its Luxury Collection. Mionetto Cuvée Anniversario Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Millesimato Brut Nature is a hand-harvested, 11%-abv expression celebrating the company’s 130th anniversary. Prior to bottling, the sparkler spent a prolonged time on the lees. The Cuvée Anniversario is now rolling out to retailers nationwide and sells for a suggested price of $25 a 750-ml. Moët Hennessy Winter Collection
Moët Hennessy is debuting a new “Winter Collection” of sparkling wines under its Chandon California brand, which will hit the market nationwide from October through New Year’s Eve. Chandon’s winter offerings include Brut and Rosé sparklers ($24 a 750-ml)., both packaged in bottles created by fashion designer and brand ambassador Rebecca Minkoff that feature holographic foil. The bubblies were made using méthode traditionelle, and they each blend Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. For more information, visit Chandon.com.

Giuliana Prosecco DOC
Terlato Wine Group has partnered with entertainment personality Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill Rancic to launch a new sparkling wine. Giuliana Prosecco DOC ($14.99 a 750-ml.) is made from 100-percent Glera grapes, which are cold-macerated and fermented in stainless steel for a month prior to bottling.
